Chintana Ahlund
Has been featured in Ode Magazine for her personal practice of reflective writing and stretching. Currently writing The Yoga of Writing, which provides regular insights and instructions on how to creatively combine writing, meditation and yoga into routine practice.
Kent Arblaster
Graduated with a B.A in chemistry from Rollins College. Currently serves on the A&H Associates. Teaches bronze casting at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center.
Whitney Broadaway
BFA, Drawing and Printmaking, UCF. Has appeared in a number of local exhibitions at the Orlando Museum of Art and UCF. Currently serves as the Membership Chair for the A&H Associates.
Kaye Callaway
MFA, Painting and Drawing, East Tennessee State University. BA, Design, FSU. Instructor at the Maitland Art Center for 13 years. Past experience: instructor at Crealde School of Art, owner of Vaughan-Hunter Visual Concepts, and an artist at The Orlando Sentinel. Received the All American Award from Associated Collegiate Press First Place for Drawing; the Silver Addy, Orlando Area Advertising Federation; and an Addy Award for Design.
Susan Carter
Susan has a B.F.A. and M.F.A. from Yale University, School of Art and Architecture. She has studied with noted artists James Rosati, George Sugarman, Donald Judd, Knox Martin, Lester Johnson and Gabor Peterdi . She has exhibited throughout the country and has won numerous awards.
Teresa Lachowicz-Chin
BA, Graphic Design, UCF. A watercolor artist concentrated on Asian and traditional western styles. Has won awards for traditional black and white graphite drawings as well as water-based media.
Molly Chism
BFA, Painting, UCF. Art & History Museums – Maitland’s 2010-2011 Artist-in-Action. Molly is a master printmaker with knowledge in copper, aluminum, and drypoint etching; linocut; woodcut; mono prints; and mono types. Also works with acrylic and watercolor.
Chuck Dowling
Mr. Dowling has been a Policeman, a U.S. Marine Officer and a corporate executive. Besides writing novels and magazine pieces, he teaches creative writing and conducts workshops statewide. Four of his novels have won literary awards. He is a member and past director of the Florida Writers Association, he also belongs to The Space Coast Writers Guild, The Marine Corps Association and the Art & History Museums – Maitland. He lives in the Orlando area and he and his wife have three children and four grandchildren.
Marla E.
Marla E currently has work exhibited in galleries and museums from Las Vegas to Rodos. Her unique sculptural paintings are on display in shows, galleries and private collections around the world. Her popular work often combines unlikely objects, providing an element of surprise.
Judy Edwards
Judy is an artist and writer who lives in Brevard County, Florida. Edwards studied art at the Honolulu Art Academy, Rhode Island School of Design, Newport Art Museum, and at the Ringling School in Sarasota, FL. “I have been working in art forever. Classically trained, I spent years in realistic oil painting. A move and a change and I discovered the art of encaustic painting. It is brilliant, seductive, exciting, challenging and fun.”
Cathy Gatti
Central FL Stained Glass Artist, 18 years. Has participated in juried art shows and festivals throughout Florida. Owner of Stained Glass Creations, Inc; found in gift shops statewide. Once a hobby, glass is now her life’s passion.
Jim Hosner
Graduate of Central Michigan University. Experienced with years of jewelry making and teaching. Also paints and has participated in outdoor art festivals.
Heidi Lifrage
12 yrs drawing and painting with oils and acrylics. Incorporates artistic flare in classes and works by using bright colors and thick layered paints.
Taylor Ikin
Conservation, preservation and a love of nature and her bodies of water, lands, flora and fauna are the subject of Taylor Ikin’s artwork. An unusual feature of Ikin’s painting process is her use of traditional watercolor media applied to a synthetic painting surface called YUPO. Since no trees are required in the processing of YUPO, the use of this innovative material further supports the artist’s interest in preservation and conservation. Ikin’s work is collected worldwide including Australia, South Africa, the British Isles, Europe, the United States, Canada and the Vatican.
Terri Markle
BA, Stetson University. Instructor at The Maitland Art Center for over 10 years. Has years of experience teaching art in education as Art Teacher/Specialist, Longwood Elem. Voted Teacher-of-the-Year, 2005, Seminole County Education Association. Has taught workshops for the Florida Art Education Association conference and classes at the National Art Education Association.
Cindy McDowell
Artist, 28 years. Studied at Waubonese Community College, Sugar Grove, IL, Crealde School of Art, and attended numerous workshops nationally and internationally. Works are in personal collections including former President Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. Has exhibited across the Midwest and Southeast winning numerous awards.
Chuck Miller
Chuck actively models for artists in the Central Florida area. He has experience in classroom work at Art & History Museums – Maitland, The Art League of Daytona Beach and Full Sail’s Computer Animation Department. His modeling experience includes drawing, sketching, portraiture and sculpture. Chuck holds an undergraduate degree in engineering as well as an MBA.
Calixto O’Neill
Calixto has a degree in graphic design from New York’s Empire State College. He has been a professional graphic designer and photographer since 1965. He has taught at Parson’s School of Design in New York City, Hofstra University and Briarcliffe College on Long Island for 27 years. He was president of New Image Advertising Graphics Inc. in New York City for 25 years. Currently, he lives in Casselberry, Florida. Teaching fine art affords him the ability to share and experience art from different vantage points, through the eyes of his students.
Maria Petrakos
BA, Studio Art, Rollins College. Has studied art since childhood, often having her work featured in public spaces. Works as a local artist, continuing to show art pieces in both student and independent art shows. Is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management at UCF.

Attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; SUNY at Binghamton; Broome College, Binghamton; Rutgers University, Newark and the Ringling School of Art, Sarasota. Steve has had numerous exhibitions and commissions throughout the country.
Ruth Schorer
Instructor at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center for 11 years. Artist of painting, jewelry and illustration, 16+ years. Designed costume pieces for Universal Studios’ 1999 motion picture, Sacred Seal: accessories, hair pieces, and jewelry.
Glen Ward
AS degree, Southern College, many awards and recognitions, as well as works in many private collections. Watercolor Artist, 30+ yrs. Active in local art associations for many years and has studied with leading artists/educators.
Sharon D. Verhoef
MFA, Indiana University, MA Montclair State, BS Skidmore College. Taught at the High School and University level—Indiana, Montclair State, Vassar College, and Southwestern University. Works are in private collections around the USA, New Zealand and Australia.
