Spend quality family time together at the A&H! Each month we feature a unique opportunity to learn about art and history in an entertaining way that families are sure to enjoy. Activities are held in a new location each month to provide a diverse educational experience. Activities are designed to run about 45 minutes in length and families are encouraged to stay as long as they would like and enjoy the A&H museums.

November 16: Give Thanks at the Waterhouse Residence Museum
The holidays are approaching and it’s always a good time to think of things we’re thankful for. Learn about Thanksgiving traditions and create a fun centerpiece for your table.
December 21: ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Waterhouse Residence Museum
Families will get a special tour of the Waterhouse Residence focusing on Victorian Holiday Traditions while children hunt for the famous Waterhouse Mouse based on the classic poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Clement Clarke Moore. Families will then get to make their very own Waterhouse Mouse Ornament to hang on their tree at home.
January 18: It’s All Relative at the A&H’s Maitland Historical Museum
Join us at the Maitland Historical Museum to learn about genealogy and tracing your family heritage. Start your own Family Tree and learn the basic steps to begin researching your heritage to take your Family Tree even further into the past.
February 15: From Stop to LOL, the History of Communication at the A&H’s Telephone Museum
Carl Galloway changed communication in Central Florida forever when he brought the first phones to the area. Learn about how technology and communication has changed through the years by learning Morse code, how to send messages with a telegraph, and how sound travels when you make a phone call. Make phones, play games, and experience a working telephone office.
March 15: Garden Sculpture Party! at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center
Join A&H Artist-In-Action Dawn Rosendahl as we make the A&H’s Main Garden come to life with a large-scale collaborative sculpture. Using recycled materials, we will work together to create a unique piece of art. Fun will ensue with lawn games, face painting, and more.
