Bas relief (bah re-LEEF) is a kind of carving or sculpture in which the figures are raised a few inches from a flat background to give a three-dimensional effect.
The term is French for “low relief.” In this class, we will carve into clay, learn how to make plaster molds then create pulp castings as the finished piece. Bring shapes and forms to push into clay, if desired.
This workshop takes place over two days at the Studios at Lake Lily, not the Maitland Art Center campus. Please note the location on your ticket. Workshop times are Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm with a break.
This workshop has a materials fee of $35 in addition to the registration fee. Materials fee can be paid in cash to the instructor at the start of the workshop.
