SUMMARY:Central Florida Yellow Ribbon Project
DESCRIPTION:The first fiber bombing for the project is located in the field next to A&H’s main campus \nIn conjunction with the A&H’s Soldier’s Home and Art of Camouflage exhibitions\, Victoria Walsh (aka Macramé Momma) will lead “fiber bombing” community-based art installations\, titled Central Florida Yellow Ribbon Project. It aims to usher awareness about homeless veterans and their needs. Installations are planned at Lake Lily\, Orange County Regional History Center\, UCF\, Mills50 and more\, with the help of volunteers and fiber groups. \nThis project is curated by Art & History Museums – Maitland\, in collaboration with: \n  \n  \n  \n  \n[plsc_button url=”https://macramemomma.com/yellow-ribbon-project” target=”_blank” color=”gray” style=”flat” radius=”square” size=”lg”]Click here to learn more about the project[/plsc_button]

André Smith’s works that record his WWI experiences. Honoring his legacy as a veteran\, it also exhibits works by local veteran artists William Gura\, Jim Hosner\, and Michael Moffett. The exhibition provides an opportunity to take a look at the impact of war on individuals as well as the various meanings of artmaking for these artists working in diverse media.\nJ. André Smith and the Art of Camouflage – This exhibition provides an overview of André Smith’s experimentation with camouflage methods during World War I\, with objects recreated to bring several of his ideas to life and to explore the intersection of art and the mechanics of war. \n
