In this workshop\, participants will create books from folding paper in certain arrangements. Ryan will teach the different types of accordion folds\, and even demonstrate using one of his own drawings by turning it into a book with cutting and folding. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 21  | 11 AM – 2 PM \nInstructor: Ryan Price \nLocation: Maitland Art Center\, Studio 10 \nCost: $80 + $20 material fees. \nMaterials fees must be paid in cash directly to the instructor\, and are due on the day of the workshop. \nParticipants will cut cardstock paper to create negatives and stencils for prints. You will arrange the stencils and plan their print layout. Participants will use squeegee brushes to press their stencils onto paper and create images. DESCRIPTION:October 26 @ 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM or October 26 @ 1 PM – 4 PM \nInstructor: Peggy Wertheim \nLocation: Cottage at Lake Lily \nCost: $95 + $30 material fee \nYou can register for this workshop in the morning from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM or in the afternoon from 1 PM – 4 PM. \nMarbling will inspire you with instant gratification and success! Peggy Wertheim teaches traditional marbling using acrylic paints floating on carrageenan to create intricate traditional marbled designs. You will create marbled papers which can be incorporated into greeting cards\, scrapbooking\, collages\, framed art\, journal covers\, etc.  You will also create a silk scarf. \nPeggy Wertheim is a surface design artist in the forms of marbling\, silk painting\, batik\, shibori\, and complex dyeing. She has exhibited at hundreds of juried and invitational shows and galleries in a career spanning 45 years. \nBring your love of art\, your creativity\, and your curiosity.
