SUMMARY:Florida Byways: Jules André Smith and the Bok Fellows
DESCRIPTION:Florida Byways: Jules André Smith and the Bok Fellows\nJanuary 21 – August 14\, 2022\nin the Maitland History Museum \nWhile exploring the surrounding byways that weaved throughout Florida\, Art Center founder Jules André Smith created watercolors and drawings of parts of Florida that were typically unseen by the casual tourist. His works offer a rare glimpse of everyday life in nearby cities and some of Central Florida’s African American communities in the 1930s and 40s. The group of artists known as The Bok Fellows that wintered at the Art Center also created works inspired by the surrounding areas\, which will be featured in this exhibition. \nUna traducción al Español de esta exposición está disponible. SUMMARY:Artist Talk: Leo Cordovi
DESCRIPTION:A&H artist talks and interviews\, Q&As\, and studio visits give the public a chance to learn the hows and whys behind the creative process of the artists in our Artists in Action program. \nLeo Cordovi is a contemporary painter born in Havana\, Cuba. At the age of fifteen years old he immigrated to the United States\, later graduating with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art from the University of Central Florida in 2019.
