SUMMARY:John Petrey & Derek Gores: Marking 40 Years of the Rotary Art Festival
DESCRIPTION:Art Under the Stars\, the Rotary Club of Maitland Art Festival has a distinguished 40-year history. It began four decades ago in the park surrounding Lake Lily in Maitland\, and remains the only outdoor art festival in the state of Florida that spans from daytime to evening hours. Many local\, regional and national artists have begun their careers exhibiting at this popular event. While recognizing the community’s pride in presenting such a prestigious festival\, the A&H’s Maitland Art Center highlights two acclaimed artists who used Art Under the Stars as a springboard for current success. \n\n \nMerida\, John Petry \n\nDerek Gores (Gallery 1)\nCollage artist Derek Gores is a recycler of everyday ephemera. Petrey creates iconic dress sculptures that reference stories from history\, pop culture and childhood experiences. \nGallery Hours: Tuesday – Sunday\, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Closed Major Holidays\nAdmission: $3 adults; $2 Seniors (55+) and Children (4-18 years); free Children (3 & under) and A&H Members (Memberships start at $30)
