SUMMARY:John Petrey & Derek Gores: Marking 40 Years of the Rotary Art Festival
DESCRIPTION:Art Under the Stars\, the Rotary Club of Maitland Art Festival has a distinguished 40-year history. It began four decades ago in the park surrounding Lake Lily in Maitland\, and remains the only outdoor art festival in the state of Florida that spans from daytime to evening hours. Many local\, regional and national artists have begun their careers exhibiting at this popular event. While recognizing the community’s pride in presenting such a prestigious festival\, the A&H’s Maitland Art Center highlights two acclaimed artists who used Art Under the Stars as a springboard for current success. \n\n \nMerida\, John Petry \n\nDerek Gores (Gallery 1)\nCollage artist Derek Gores is a recycler of everyday ephemera. Magazines\, labels\, newspapers and digital media combine to reflect his contrasting interest in the abstract aesthetics of figures and objects in space. \nJohn Petrey (Gallery 2 and 3\, and Exterior Display)\nChattanooga artist John Petrey is a sculptor working with metal\, rubber\, plastic and other industrial and everyday items. DESCRIPTION:Art After Hours is designed for anyone who wants an evening out with friends (or that special someone) to talk\, enjoy a glass of wine and learn something new in a casual and fun atmosphere.  Our projects change monthly and all skill levels are welcome. You will take home a completed piece by the end of our event and we encourage you to let your creative juices flow.  Have fun creating fine art and craft pieces for your home or as a gift. \nA cash bar is available. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Pre-registration is required.\nAdmission: $20 for A&H members and $25 for not-yet-members. \nDecember’s project: Conte on Toned Paper\nConte is a colored charcoal style medium that is used on a toned paper to create beautiful monochromatic drawings.

SUMMARY:Winter Culture Camps (Grades 1-4)
DESCRIPTION:Campers enjoy two 2-hour art classes each day for a winter of art exploration and fun. Half-day campers participate in drawing and/or painting class\, while full-day campers enjoy that plus a 3D camp project featuring mediums such as collage\, clay or wire sculpture. All campers have the chance to visit one of the A&H’s five museums\, play games and explore our historic campus. \nFull-Day $50 per day (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.); Half-Day $35 per day (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)\nRegistration required; Register multiple days and save.
