SUMMARY:Meditations\, Mapping and Memories: Sharon Lee Hart\, Marie Yoho Dorsey\, Masha Ryskin and Serge Marchetta
DESCRIPTION:A&H’s Artist-in-Residence program celebrates the A&H’s Maitland Art Center history as a place where artists can live and work in an inspiring architectural environment abounding with opportunities for collaboration and experimentation in art. The artists exhibited fully embraced the stunning Florida light\, inspirational grounds and solitude to create exceptional works that exemplify the current contemporary art scene. Welcome back four Artists-in-Residence in three exhibitions that showcase their work. \n  \nSharon Lee Hart: A&H Artist-in-Residence SIX (Gallery 1) \nDuring her recent residency\, Sharon Lee Hart completed a project based on meditations of the sea. Hart creates personal narratives formed by filtering ideas about the sea through a variety of subjects\, including mythology\, astronomy and mysticism. The ocean becomes a link to the cosmos\, a backdrop and a central character to her body of work. \n  \nMasha Ryskin and Serge Marchetta: A&H Artist-in-Residence FIVE (Gallery 2) \nCreating collaboratively as a team for the last several years\, International artists\, Masha Ryskin and Serge Marchetta work with line as a mapping tool to engage the viewer in “space.” Their work addresses the ambiguity of what is perceived as reality in our immediate environment through the layering of transparent forms and lines. \n  \nMarie Yoho Dorsey: A&H Artist-in-Residence SEVEN (Gallery 3) \nMarie Yoho Dorsey’s work explores personal memories through the mediums of sculpture\, printmaking\, video and installations. “The extremely vulnerable and fragile nature of my installations seeks a silent disruption of time\, space and memory”. \n  \nGallery Hours: Tuesday – Sunday\, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; *Closed Major Holidays\nAdmission: $3 adults; $2 Seniors (55+) and Children (4-18 years); free Children (3 & under) and A&H Members (Memberships start at $30)
