SUMMARY:Sweet\, Fresh\, Juicy: Florida Citrus in Art and History
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe citrus industry had an enormous impact on Central Florida and Maitland in particular during the mid-20th century. This exhibition\, which spans the Maitland Art Center Gallery and the Maitland Historical Museum\, celebrates the region’s finest export. \nIn the Maitland Historical Museum\, examine the rise and fall of the Central Florida citrus industry through a collection of historic citrus labels from some of Central Florida’s growers and packers\, many on loan from the Orange County Regional History Center’s vast archives. \nIn the Maitland Art Center Gallery\, we embrace Florida’s premier citrus while honoring the farmworker through a collection of citrus-themed artwork from local and national artists\, as well as Maitland Art Center founder J. André Smith’s interpretations of the orange groves that once surrounded his studio. \nSweet\, Fresh\, Juicy is sponsored by:

SUMMARY:Friday the 13th Paranormal Investigation at the Waterhouse Residence
DESCRIPTION:Maitland’s most popular Halloween event is back for a special Friday the 13th edition! Join one of the investigators from American Ghost Adventures to check in on the activity at the Waterhouse Residence Museum. This one-night-only event is likely to sell out\, so get your tickets today! \nThe Waterhouse Residence was built in 1884 by pioneer and carpenter William H. Waterhouse\, as a home for his family. The Waterhouse family was a critical part of the development of Maitland: William’s son Charles was the architect behind the Maitland Public Library\, where his mother Sarah (and later his sister\, Stella) was the head librarian. The home remained in the family for generations until the 1980s\, when it was donated to the City of Maitland. Today\, it operates as a museum dedicated to showcasing life in the earliest days of Maitland. \nNow restored to peak Victorian charm\, the home has had reports of unusual occurrences that some visitors believe are proof of paranormal activity in the home. Using real paranormal investigation equipment\, decide for yourself on this exclusive tour. \nTour Times:\n6:30pm\, 8:00pm\, 9:30pm \n
