Help beautify the Maitland Art Center this Summer
Invest in our Landscaping Transformation!

This summer, the Art & History Museums of Maitland are transforming the Chapel and Mayan Courtyard through a major landscaping initiative that deepens the site’s historical storytelling. Designed by Justin Doherty of Botanic Harmony, the new plantings are rooted in research that reflects founder André Smith’s history and vision. In the Chapel Garden, native plants from the Yucatán Peninsula nod to Smith’s use of Mayan Revival architecture, while the Mayan Courtyard will feature species native to coastal Asian rainforests, honoring Smith’s early life in Hong Kong. Planting begins in July, and the community is invited to be part of the transformation by sponsoring the plantings. From lacy heathers to towering palms, every contribution helps bring this living landscape to life.
Your donation will go directly to purchasing the specific plants you choose. Amounts include landscape design, delivery, and installation. Our goal is to raise $12,660 for the full transformation by July 25, our next exhibition opening reception.
Benefits:
- All Donors will be thanked on our website (unless otherwise requested)
- Donors of $250+ will be thanked in an on-site plaque
- You can visit YOUR plants!
- Your investment will beautify and sustain the Maitland Art Center
