The legacy of Art & History Museums – Maitland
can be found in its commitment to artists.

From its beginning in 1937, André Smith viewed The Research Studio as a place for artists to gather, collaborate, experiment and grow. That spirit is alive and well today as the A&H’s Maitland Art Center revisits its roots through a variety of programs designed to enrich the artistic community.

The A&H engages professional artists through two application-based residency programs, and professional development programs:

Artist-in-Residence (AiR)

Artists from around the country living and working at the A&H for a three, six or nine week residency. Click here to learn more about the Artist-in-Residence program.

2020-2021 Artists-in-Residence applications accepted: August 1 – September 30, 2019.
DEADLINE: September 30, 2019 (midnight). No late applications are accepted. No phone calls, please.
The 2020-2021 application is not yet available. Please check back soon!
