About the ARCHITECT AS ARTIST exhibition,
April 28 – July 2, 2017 in the A&H’s Maitland Art Center:
Artist and architect André Smith created the A&H’s Maitland Art Center (formerly the Research Studio) in 1937, and hosted art luminaries such as Milton Avery. This rich history, combined with its unique architecture, sculptural reliefs and colorful murals earned the campus a National Historic Landmark designation. The Architect as Artist art exhibition honors Smith’s legacy, featuring juried fine art works by Florida architects.
