Art & History Museums – Maitland
The Maitland Art Center is the only National Historic Landmark in Central Florida’s 4 counties (Orange, Seminole, Lake, and Osceola), recognized as one of the last remaining examples of Fantasy Architecture in the United States.
Join Exhibitions Manager Katie Benson on an architectural tour of the Maitland Art Center, Jules André Smith’s 1930s artists’ retreat. Adorned with hundreds of cement carvings and murals by Smith and other artists, the Center holds nearly 90 years of history within its walls. Uncover some of these stories in this free, guided, outdoor walking tour.
No registration is required – simply meet the group at the front of the gallery along Packwood Avenue! This tour is free, but admission to the Museums must be purchased if you would like to visit the galleries after the tour.
