Family Day: Free Victorian Crafts at the Waterhouse Residence

October 22, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

A&H’s Waterhouse Residence Museum

Learn about the Victorian period when William H. Waterhouse built the Waterhouse Residence for his family on the shores of Lake Lily. Go on a scavenger hunt to discover some of the architectural details Mr. Waterhouse used when building his home. Then take a seat right on the lawn and try designing your own Victorian period home just like an architect in the 1880s!

When you’re done, stop by William Waterhouse’s Carpentry Shop. Here you’ll see some of the tools he used to build the Waterhouse Residence as well as other homes and buildings in the City of Maitland.

You’ll round-out your day by creating some popular hand-made toys that Charles and Stella Waterhouse may have played with during the 1880s at our Victorian-themed craft stations!

Space is limited, so reserve a spot for your family today! (Note: crafts and activities recommended for Elementary aged children).

This family day is free and brought to you by Art & History Museums of Maitland.
