Free Winter Family Day

December 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

A&H’s Maitland Art Center

Bring your whole family to welcome a new season at our Winter Family Day and take home your own tiny winter clayscape creation!

Surrounded by artists’ studios in our main garden, families will use their imaginations to create small world landscapes using clay and natural materials at our Wintery Clayscapes Family Art Workshop. Children will hand-build their very own mini winter wonderlands with clay, twigs, pinecones, seaglass, seashells, and other tiny treasures from our garden. Space and art supplies are limited (one clayscape per child, while supplies last), so sign up today >>

We’ll have other surprises too, like a winter themed scavenger hunt, face painting and free admission to three museums and more!! Our family art workshop is recommended for children ages 4 and over, and under 4 with parental help!

A&H’s Maitland Art Center was originally built in 1937 as an artists’ colony and named the Research Studio. Our founder, artist J. André Smith, had a dream that all artists creating in this space would experiment with art, and we can’t think of a more fun way to celebrate winter then by sculpting our own mini winter wonderlands on our National Historic Landmark Campus!

Our Winter Family Day is free of charge and sponsored by Massey Services.
