Saturday Painting Workshop: Surf Shack
These workshops are a blend of painting and mixed media techniques, exploring a looser style of painting and greater expression. Complete a project in each unique workshop! Workshops are appropriate for all learners. This vintage inspired painting of an old surf shack will definitely put you in the mood for summer! Learn about lighting and the power color has on mood. You will also exercise a bit of perspective in this piece!
2D Miniature Workshop
In this 2-day workshop, learn how to design and create your own 2D artwork inspired by J. Andre Smith's Maitland Art Center reliefs. On day one, you will tour the Maitland Art Center and select one of Smith's reliefs to replicate. Then you will create a miniature version of the relief in wax sculpture and make a silicone rubber mold. On day two, you will mix and pour acrylic into your mold for curing. Finally, you will decorate and take home your finished artwork.
