Plein Air Painting in Spanish Workshop

Déjese inspirar por la belleza única que rodea las instalaciones de los museos de Arte e Historia de Maitland. Este taller de pintura al aire libre se llevará a cabo en español y será impartido por los Artists-in-Action, Leo Cordovi y Mär Martínez. La clase cubrirá los conceptos básicos de la pintura al aire libre y desafiará a los artistas a capturar la luz dinámica del paisaje en tiempo real. Plein Air Painting in Spanish Workshop:
Be inspired by Art and History Museums Maitland's unique and beautiful campus. This Spanish-speaking workshop will take place outdoors. Taught by Leo Cordovi and Mär Martinez, this workshop will cover the basics of plein air painting, and will challenge artists to capture the dynamic changing light of a landscape existing in real-time. This workshop is open to artists of all stages but previous experience is encouraged.
Please RSVP to reserve your spot as this workshop will be limited to 15 people. The price to participate is $ 15.00, which covers the cost of materials. It is recommended to bring a cap or hat as we will be painting under the sun. Easels and canvases will be provided.

Andre Smith’s Maitland Art Center reliefs. This includes pouring and casting your miniature and then finishing it with paints, dyes, and other decorative materials. This is a fun and creative workshop for all skill levels. You can wear your finished art piece as jewelry or use it as decor for your home.

Experiment with drips, stains, and adding texture with a gel medium. Explore high saturated and exaggerated colors while painting a flamingo in a more funky, contemporary way. A&H's Maitland Art Center 231 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland, FL, United StatesDesign and create your own set of metal bangle bracelets! Learn to measure and cut round, patterned silver wire. Then solder and polish your work.
2D Miniature Workshop
A&H's Maitland Art Center 231 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland, FL, United StatesIn this 2-day workshop, learn how to design and create your own 2D artwork inspired by J. Andre Smith's Maitland Art Center reliefs. On day one, you will tour the Maitland Art Center and select one of Smith's reliefs to replicate. Afterward, create a miniature version of the relief in wax sculpture and make a silicone rubber mold. On day two, you will mix and pour acrylic into your mold for curing and finish your art with paints, dyes, and other decorative materials.

Metal Clay Jewelry Workshops: Silver Tiny Trinket Box

You will receive 20 grams of fine silver metal clay, and have a variety of mold shapes to choose from with plenty of embellishment possibilities. This is meant to be a small, approximately 1” cubed, whimsical trinket box, maybe something to keep a child’s tooth, a lock of hair, a coin from your honeymoon to Italy, the button from your mother’s favorite dress… a darling little treasure. And you will have fun creating it! You will complete your box to the dried clay stage. Pieces will be fired by the instructor after class and available for pick-up the following week.
Up Close and Personal: Animals Acrylic Painting
