Creative Sculpture & Castings: 2D Miniature Workshop
Art & History Museums – Maitland 231 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland, FL, United StatesIn this 2-day workshop, learn how to design and create your own 2D artwork inspired by J. Andre Smith's Maitland Art Center reliefs. On day one, you will tour the Maitland Art Center and select one of Smith's reliefs to replicate. Afterward, create a miniature version of the relief in wax sculpture and make a silicone rubber mold. On day two, you will mix and pour acrylic into your mold for curing and finish your art with paints, dyes, and other decorative materials.
Metal Clay Jewelry Workshop: Hand-Carved Silver Pendant

You will receive a piece of lino to carve your texture with your own design or choose from a selection of pre-printed ones. Then you will receive 10 grams of fine silver metal clay to press into your texture plate to create your pendant or earrings. Your jewelry will be fired by the instructor after the workshop and will be available for you to pick up the following week at your convenience at the Art Center.
