Saturday Painting Workshop: Surf Shack

2D Miniature Workshop

In this 2-day workshop, learn how to design and create your own 2D artwork inspired by J. Andre Smith's Maitland Art Center reliefs. On day one, you will tour the Maitland Art Center and select one of Smith's reliefs to replicate. Then you will create a miniature version of the relief in wax sculpture and make a silicone rubber mold. On day two, you will mix and pour acrylic into your mold for curing. Finally, you will decorate and take home your finished artwork.

We’ll have a themed circle and storytime plus an art activity especially for littles! A snack will be provided too! Recommend ages 0 – 3 and their very special person (parent, grandparent, caregiver). Older siblings are always welcome.
