Metal Clay Jewelry Workshop: Tide Pool Pendant

Learn how to use a silicone compound to make reusable molds from natural plant materials. You may bring items from your own yard or forage right on the Art Center grounds! Small leaves, tiny flowers, and weeds work best. Then, using your handmade molds and metal clay, you will create charms for bracelets, earrings, or pendants. All pieces will be fired after the workshop and available for pick-up the following week. Included in the materials fee is 10 grams of fine silver metal clay and your choice of one sterling silver chain, one leather cord with clasp, one pair of sterling silver ear wires, OR one lobster claw spring clasp. Additional materials will be available to purchase during the workshop only. For beginners or intermediate level students.

Historical Architectural Tour

Join our Exhibitions team on an architectural tour of the Maitland Art Center, Jules André Smith’s 1930s artists’ retreat. Adorned with hundreds of cement carvings and murals by Smith and other artists, the Center holds nearly 90 years of history within its walls.
