Cost: $120 for 6 weeks (can be prorated for 4-5 weeks); or $25 per class (a la carte)
Get your little one started in creative thinking right away! Especially for ages 2-5, this opportunity focuses on 2d art projects that teach coordination and basic art skills, as well as building a crucial love of expression and creativity! Parents may enjoy a quiet moment on the beautiful grounds of the Maitland Art Center, or visit near the classroom to enjoy their child’s progress.

WORKSHOPS

Teens: Pendants & Earrings made with Precious Metal Clay
in Studio 5
December 8 and 15; 9:30am- 12:30pm

Cost: $100; Materials Fee: $30
Want to make a unique holiday gift for someone special? Or just want to have some fun and come away with a beautiful piece of handmade jewelry? In this workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry using Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is a clay made from particles of metal that is molded just like regular clay, but then fired into solid metal. Make a pendant, earrings, or whatever you design in this fun, easy-to-use medium. Personalized instruction with a certified instructor for beginning to intermediate students. All materials will be provided by the instructor, covered by the materials fee, with additional available for purchase by those who want to make more projects during the workshop.

Littles & Grownups: Digital Photography Scavenger Hunt
(For kids 3-5 years old)
Saturday, November 10; 10:00am-11:30am
Instructor: TBD
Cost: adult $5; kid: $15
Accompanied by their grown-up, kids work to solve visual clues and seek photographic stations throughout the beautiful grounds of the Maitland Art Center. When the stations are located, seekers photograph the tableaus, each other and then figure out their path to the next clue. This is a simple and fun way to reinforce learning colors, numbers, and critical thinking and bonding. Please purchase a ticket for each attendee, child and adult. Each participant should bring their own digital or cell phone camera.

Kids: Pottery workshop
(grades 3-5) in Studio 4
Saturdays, December 1 and 8; 10:00-12:00pm
Instructor: Jim Patterson
Cost: $60; Materials fee: $10
Kids are invited to explore working with clay in this unique 2 day workshop. The first Saturday consists of lots of fun making individual and collaborative projects. Before the next Saturday, your instructor will fire your pieces, so they’re ready to glaze when you come back. You’ll see demonstrations of different glazing techniques and finishes, so you can decide which is best for your artwork. Prepare to enjoy getting messy and creative with clay! Please note: artwork will be available for pickup one week after the second Saturday class.

Teens: Pottery workshop

Now is your opportunity to try your hand at pottery! You’ll have fun creating a one-of-a-kind beautiful piece of pottery, for yourself or as a holiday gift. This workshop offers personalized instruction with a certified instructor for beginning to intermediate students.
